Parallel Studios, creators of the Ethereum NFT card game Parallel, reveal their new project. Colony is an AI-powered survival simulation game built on the Solana blockchain.
In a whitepaper released on Thursday, Parallel Studios provided an in-depth look at Colony. In this game, players will interact with autonomous AI-powered agents that evolve and make decisions independently. Players will kickstart their agents by answering some questions to set their base personality, but the agents will develop their objectives and behaviors over time.
The whitepaper shows the unique gameplay experience, stating, “Your AI-powered agent will have a mind of its own. You can give your agent suggestions, but they may not always obey.” This adds an interesting twist, as agents might understand suggestions differently or refuse them due to changing goals.
Colony’s foundation will center on current Parallel Avatar NFTs on Ethereum. But the studio plans to mint additional NFTs on Solana. The game will feature a “breeding” mechanism to generate more agents, akin to Axie Infinity’s monster generations. Players will use the PRIME token, bridged from Ethereum to Solana, for in-game rewards and transactions.
Parallel Studios expects to launch a public alpha version of Colony in Q4 2024 or Q1 2025. As the team continues to develop the game, players can anticipate more details and updates in the coming months, further fueling the excitement surrounding this ambitious AI-powered crypto game on Solana.
