Sports Illustrated Tickets Moves NFT Platform to Avalanche – Money Wiper Crypto News Blog

[ad_1]

SI Tickets, the ticketing arm of Sports Illustrated magazine, plans to shift its NFT ticketing platform Box Office out of the Polygon blockchain onto Avalanche. The company announced the news on February 20th, 2023; the service was launched on 5th April, about 10 months ago.

SI Tickets will mint NFT tickets using Avalanche blockchain technology as part of the new collaboration. Ava Labs, Avalanche’s developer, will provide resources and expertise to transform event tickets into dynamic digital content. This will allow SI Tickets to better engage with guests before, during, and after events through exclusive benefits attached to NFT tickets.

SI Tickets CEO David Lane stated the partnership with Ava Labs will bring critical resources that Polygon lacked. He touted the advantages of NFT ticketing, explaining it creates opportunities for continued engagement and revenue streams for event organizers after tickets are scanned. Lane believes the growing NFT sports market will drive mainstream adoption as fans see value in NFT offerings.

The launch coincides with the Inspect Rewards Season 1 kickoff, an initiative rewarding Avalanche supporters for community engagement. Users can connect wallets to the analytics platform Inspect and set AVAX profile pictures to qualify for prizes allocated by ranking. The season runs through an unannounced end date.
