The official launch of Shib Names took place on March 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM UTC, with collaboration between Shiba Inu and D3. The price of Shiba Inu ($SHIB) has surged in tandem, which could happen after this highly anticipated launch.  

Users can use d3.app/shib or names.shib.io to access the platform. With this launch, the Shiba Inu ecosystem takes a big step forward by providing individuals with a unique, decentralized online identity.

Together, the two organizations will apply for the much desired “.SHIB” top-level domain. Shib Names, a Web3 identification solution created in partnership with D3, is undertaking this project, however, the formal specifics are currently being withheld.

Shiba Inu has taken a big stride forward with its cooperation with D3, opening the door for the cryptocurrency to perhaps apply for its top-level domain (TLD). By doing this, Shiba Inu would be given its special namespace within the DNS, much to how other websites utilize the “.com” or “.org” extensions.

The Shib team is providing an exceptional 69% discount on users’ first cart of up to 20 Shib Names during the Early Access period in honor of the launch and recent price increase. The Shib team has offered vouchers that can be used to take advantage of this promotion, which begins on March 5.

Eight premium tiers, excluding the Early Access discount, will start at $50 per year and go up from $10 for Standard Shib Names.
