The Oasys blockchain has recently announced a collaboration with Com2uS, a South Korean game publisher, to bolster Com2uS’s web3 gaming infrastructure as it expands into Japan.

Oasys, known for its work with prominent entities like SoftBank, Sega, and Ubisoft, will provide technical assistance to Com2uS and its blockchain subsidiary, XPLA.

Paul Kim, team lead of XPLA, expressed excitement about this venture, stating that it marks a significant step into the third-largest gaming market, Japan.

Com2uS intends to introduce two web3 games, ‘Summoners War: Chronicle’ and ‘The Walking Dead: All Stars,’ in Japan by mid-2024, featuring well-known intellectual properties. Com2uS plans to utilize the distinctive double-layer structure of the Oasys blockchain, consisting of various Verses (Layer2s) and its own Hub-Layer (Layer1).

It further stated, “The core value of Oasys comes from the vision that Oasys acts as a blockchain that offers the most relevant solutions for game companies as a game-focused blockchain and we are also confident our collaboration will lead to the kind of innovative gaming experiences that players deserve.”

Com2uS, established in 1998, currently boasts a market capitalization of over 605 billion Korean won ($454 million) as of the most recent Monday in Asia.
